The rhythmic clatter of wheels on tracks sounded like a heartbeat in the dark, but beneath it lay a silence too heavy for any living thing. Inside the carriage, shadows stretched unnaturally long as the air grew thick with the scent of burning wood and blood. Tanjiro woke gasping, his hand instinctively gripping a hilt that felt heavier than usual, while across the aisle, Zenitsu snored peacefully in a dream he knew was false. The train lurched forward into an abyss of stars, carrying them toward a destiny written in fire and sorrow.

Tanjiro Kamado boarded the Mugen Train alongside his friends to support Kyojuro Rengoku following reports of missing passengers. They discovered Enmu, who had fused with the locomotive, using a Blood Demon Art to trap everyone in personalized dreams. Recognizing the inconsistencies, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke broke free while the rest remained asleep. Splitting up to investigate, Zenitsu and Inosuke fought off Enmu's blood clones while Tanjiro tracked the main threat. The battle intensified when Enmu revealed his true form attached to the train's undercarriage; severing these connections was vital to prevent a derailment into a ravine. Simultaneously, Rengoku engaged Enmu in a passenger car, demonstrating the overwhelming power gap between a Hashira and Lower Rank demons. The climax arrived when Tanjiro reunited with Rengoku just as Enmu attempted a final blood demon art explosion. Though they decapitated Enmu, the attack mortally wounded Rengoku. As dawn broke, the Flame Hashira refused to yield his position, standing vigil over the passengers until the end. He passed away smiling, having fulfilled his duty, leaving a legacy of warmth that would fuel the resolve of those he trained.
