Reader's Guide

The event begins when trainees arrive at the base of a secluded mountain, having completed their basic physical training under Urokodaki or other instructors. They are informed that they must survive for seven days on the island, which is infested with demons trapped there by the Corps. As the days progress, candidates encounter various demons, each presenting unique challenges based on their abilities and intelligence. The pressure mounts as fatigue sets in, testing their resolve and breathing techniques under extreme stress. By the seventh day, only a handful of candidates remain standing. Those who survive are rescued by members of the Corps, including the Hashira who oversee the event. They are then presented with their official uniforms and Nichirin Blades, officially becoming Demon Slayers. This arc is crucial as it establishes the high stakes of the world and introduces key characters like Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma, setting the stage for their future adventures.
