Left as property in a trafficking ring for years, Kanao's existence ended only when Shinobu Kocho intervened. The Insect Hashira tracked down the captors and purchased Kanao's freedom, effectively dissolving the Tsuyuri family as a biological unit while saving its last survivor. To cope with the void left by her sister and the loss of agency, Kanao adopted a coin-flipping mechanism for every decision, surrendering her will to chance. Yet, from this dissolution emerged a new purpose. The trauma of the Tsuyuri collapse fueled Kanao's determination to protect others from similar fates, transforming past suffering into an unyielding strength against Muzan Kibutsuji.
