The Kamado Residence was the home of Tanjuro Kamado and Kie Kamado, their older son Tanjiro, their eldest daughter Nezuko, and the rest of their siblings. Tanjiro's daily life involved selling charcoal in town, while Nezuko helped maintain the household. This peaceful existence ended when Muzan Kibutsuji murdered the family, with only Tanjiro and Nezuko surviving. Nezuko was transformed into a demon during the attack, but unexpectedly refused to consume or harm humans. After an encounter with Giyu Tomioka, a demon slayer, Tanjiro began his quest to help his sister turn back into a human. The residence itself was left behind as Tanjiro trained under Sakonji Urokodaki for two years while Nezuko remained unconscious in Urokodaki's care.

His sister Nezuko had been transformed into a demon and initially attempted to attack him, but came to her senses to defend him from Giyu Tomioka.
