Entertainment District Arc
A neon-lit descent into hell where sound and shadow clash against ancient evil.
Following the tragic loss at Mugen Train, the Demon Slayer Corps shifts tactics from defense to offense in Yoshiwara's neon-drenched underworld. Tasked by three Hashira but led by the extravagant Tengen Uzui, Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira infiltrate a pleasure district shrouded in mystery. This arc shatters previous power dynamics, forcing the trio to face an Upper Rank demon without full-time Hashira support initially, marking their brutal transition from trainees to elite warriors amidst the Sound Hashira's flashy leadership.

Lore & Background
Yoshiwara functions as an isolated pocket dimension wrapped in illusions woven by Daki’s Blood Demon Art. Cut off from the sun and the outside world, the district masquerades as a vibrant hub of pleasure while hiding a slaughterhouse beneath its lantern-lit streets. The architecture mimics traditional wooden teahouses, but every shadow conceals a predator. The true horror lies in the dual existence of Upper Rank Six: Daki dominates the physical plane with her flesh-colored sashes, while her brother Gyutaro lurks within a shared spiritual dimension, striking unseen from the shadows to protect their symbiotic bond.
In Their Own Story
The air in Yoshiwara hung thick with the scent of incense and rotting flowers. Tanjiro's nose twitched violently; beneath the laughter of patrons and the strumming of shamisen, he smelled something foul and ancient. Beside him, Zenitsu trembled, his eyes wide as he whispered about the unnatural silence that seemed to swallow the noise of the street. Above them, a red lantern flickered, casting long, dancing shadows that looked too much like grasping hands. The beauty was a lie, a gilded cage where the screams were muffled by magic, waiting for the moment the barrier would shatter and the true horror would bleed through.
Reader's Guide
The arc opens with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke infiltrating Yoshiwara disguised as entertainers to locate Tengen Uzui’s missing wives. They soon uncover that the district is a trap controlled by Upper Rank Six—a unique dual entity of sister Daki and brother Gyutaro. As night falls, the magical barrier separates the trio, forcing them into isolated skirmishes: Tanjiro battles Daki’s regenerating sashes, while Zenitsu and Inosuke endure Gyutaro’s venomous assaults from the shadows. Tengen Uzui eventually breaches the barrier to join the fray, utilizing his Sound Breathing techniques to strip away illusions and reveal the demons’ true forms. The climax escalates into a desperate three-way struggle where Tanjiro awakens the 'Transparent World' and uses Hinokami Kagura to decapitate Daki. When Gyutaro merges with her in a final surge of power, Zenitsu unleashes his Thunder Breathing form while Tengen sacrifices his sight and hearing to deliver the killing blow. The victory eradicates Upper Rank Six for the first time in over a century, leaving the Hashira permanently disabled but alive.
